Food safety policy
The rules every kitchen on Orderly.Food signs up to, and what happens when they are broken.
Hygiene declaration
Every cook signs, in their own name, that they cook in a separate clean area, use potable water and fresh ingredients, keep pets out of the kitchen, and maintain personal hygiene while cooking. This is stored with a timestamp.
Cooked today, collected today
Listings are date-specific. Nothing carries over to another day, and unsold portions do not roll forward automatically.
Allergens
Allergens are a required field on every dish. Buyers must tick a box confirming they have read them before they can pay, and the allergen list is snapshotted onto the order so it cannot be changed afterwards.
Prohibited at launch
Raw meat and fish sold uncooked, alcohol, anything requiring a cold chain we cannot verify, and any product needing a licence beyond FSSAI home-kitchen registration.
Reports and enforcement
Food-safety reports are read the same day. We can pull a listing or suspend a kitchen immediately while we investigate. Suspension takes every live listing off the marketplace at once.
Where this is going
FSSAI obligations for platforms and home kitchens are still settling. This policy will tighten rather than loosen, and we will tell cooks before it does.
